Chris Spurrell

Principal and Founder

Chris successfully delivers large transformation programs for major clients; these are often end to end lifecycle projects that include strategy and system selection, defining end state business and technical architecture and target operating models, building plans and budgets, developing and staffing program organizations, and hands on direction and management of program activity including requirements, business process transformation, change management, conversion and reconciliation, interfacing and integration, reporting and business intelligence, and transition management to deliver a comprehensive solution.

Chris excels in working with investment management clients to rapidly understand requirements and implement effective solutions. Over the last 25 years he has worked with leading clients in insurance, banking, mutual funds, retirement and state treasuries, typically those with more demanding accounting and regulatory requirements. His strategic insights are rooted in ongoing real world implementation experience. He is equally comfortable working with C-level executives, leading teams large and small, and getting deeply engaged in execution.

Prior to his experience in the world of investment management, Chris was engaged in project management, data management and systems development for leading businesses in the U.K. Mr Spurrell has an MBA from Kingston Business School.

Ken Rahl

Principal and Founder

Ken has been an investment management consultant for 20 years, focused exclusively in the institutional investment management business. He has worked with many of the largest and most distinguished institutional investment managers, public pension funds and outsourcing providers in the world. His experience extends across a broad range of disciplines, with a focus on investment accounting and investment accounting system implementation. This diversity has allowed Ken to gain a broad sense of best practices across the spectrum of institutional investors, including investment advisors, mutual fund companies, banks, corporate treasury departments, public pension funds and insurance companies.

Mr. Rahl has experience with a number of systems in the investment management process, including projects to select, assess and/or implement systems for investment accounting, trade/order management, performance measurement, and custom reporting. He has a deep understanding of the business of investment management, accounting and reporting, including how data flows through investment management firms and how business processes support the organization. Ken has project management experience across a broad spectrum, ranging from large-scale project management infrastructures to small-firm, infrastructure-free environments.

Ken is a graduate of Miami University, with a BS in Accounting. Ken is a Certified Public Accountant (Ohio), and has passed Level II of the CFA Examination.
